Are We Crazy????? New Additions to the House of Hud!

BREAKING NEWS......

NEW ADDITIONS EXPECTED TO THE HOUSE OF HUD!

We are expecting!!!! In about a month we are going to shock Ryan and Joey with their own puppies thanks to the kind generosity of a former high school classmate whose Lab and Beagle "got it on" unexpectedly.

When I saw the posting on Facebook from my former classmate that she was offering up these adorable puppies I had to take action. I called Jeannie up and said there were some puppies available and we should try to get one of them for the boys. This morning she said, "Why don't you see if she has two available." Uhhhhhh ohhhhh! The kids have finally gotten to the stage where they are independent...now we are going to turn the house upside down by adding TWO dogs to the house?!?!?! This should be interesting but also very fun.

This is a big secret to the boys who will have the summer of their life with two new puppies. More details and a video DAILY GREG to come!

Big kudos again to my old classmate from CHS!

A Pre-K Graduation and a Juggler

Friday 6/5/09: Joey Graduates Pre-K

Sunday 6/7/09 - At the Fair with Ryan the Daredevil!

A Graduation, YouTube and a Fair!

Friday - Joey Graduates Pre-K

It was a very busy weekend at the House of Hud as I like to call it. Friday we celebrated the graduation of our son Joey from Pre-K. This is the second year we have had one of these graduation events and I can tell you that it is quite the emotional experience even though the kid is only 5 years old. Joey was looking and acting very much like the graduate especially when his name was called for him to get his "diploma" and his eyes beamed with pride as everyone clapped for him. I caught myself with a slight tear so happy and proud of my little guy. You always hear your parents tell you when your kids are babies that the time does fly and I can tell you that the past 6 years have flown by since Ryan and Joey were born.

Saturday - Greg is watching the D-Day Ceremony on FOX and catches the Gordon Brown Screw-up and alerts the Drudge Report!

So Saturday afternoon I am at home watching the kids yell and scream at me all day while my wife has a "Girls Day Out" and I decide to watch the D-Day Ceremonies on FOX News. This is when the Prime Minister of England Comes on and is giving a pretty moving speech. Next thing you know he calls Omaha Beach......OBAMA BEACH!!!!! OHH MYYYY GOODNESS!!! I quickly hit the replay on the DVR and video this to post it to YouTube. I also write and alert the Drudge Report and within minutes he has a link to my video and headlines this all day Saturday on Drudge! A short time later he find a clean version of the recording but the damage was done to poor old Gordan Brown. My video is one of the most watched news videos in England and France on Saturday and Sunday per YouTube statistics and the screw-up gains worldwide attention!

Sunday at the Fair - Fried Twinkee!!!!

Sunday we took the kids to the South Riding Fair! This was interesting. When you say fair you might as well add in the words HEAT, SMELLY ARMPITS and SHADY VENDOR PEOPLE all as part of the Fair experience. Above is a vendor who was selling food that one would regret eating years later when you are called in for the triple bypass!

Wrinkles in the Rearview Mirror

. Wrinkles in the Rear view Mirror

It sounds like a country song but it is my new found realization...I have wrinkles and they are enhanced when I study them in the rear view mirror of my car.

Later this month I turn 39 years of age. The past several years has presented its own unique challenges: from leaving a great job to manage a dysfunctional and out of control group at a leading litigation support provider in the Metro/DC region (one day I will share the stories and there are plenty of them to create a Movie of the Month) to watching my dad almost die from bird poop (Histoplasmosis). The kicker came in 2008 when a company consolidation of redundant marketplaces = bye, bye management job. The once youthful Greg has really started to show the signs of age and very quickly.

After working in the yard this weekend with the late spring sun beating down on me I woke up this Monday morning with a nice tan. While sitting in traffic I notice white lines on my forehead and around my eyes. These were tan lines caused by wrinkles on my face. They are: Wrinkles in the Rear view Mirror. The song is a work in progress but will begin like this:

One day your 18 and the next you are 38,

You look in the rear-view mirror and see the lines that define,

They are the Wrinkles in the Review Mirror of Life.

Cue up the Banjo!

.....To be continued....

My Brother - No Problems with his Swimmers!

No Problems With My Brother's "Swim" Team!
Earlier this week I received a call from my wife who indicated that she read my brothers Facebook Page and the update said:

Bryan Hudson At the hospital with jess. I hope she is ok.

Wed 11:15am · Comment · ·
My first thoughts were of the obvious concern when I called my Dad and he indicated that she had shooting pains in her side. Gas.....nope! Swine Flu....ehhhh uhhhh! In talking with my brother later in the afternoon he had no clue!
Well, Wednesday night rolls around and I speak with my brother and he shares the news that his wife is pregnant!!! Disbelief set in. "SHE IS PREGNANT????!!!!????," I yelled. My wife just about fell off the sofa. Ya see, my brother's wife Jessica just had a baby in January meaning that the moment my brother and Jessica could "make it happen" they certainly did.
I was never a good "swimmer" but my brother certainly seems to have no problem in that area. I am sure the "raincoat" will be on in the future!
Looks like a special present will be unwrapped on the Daily Greg around Christmas Time!

Toilet Gel Story

The Toilet Gel Story

When we were visiting my parent's house in Alabama in April they had this funky little gel thing stuck on the inside of their toilet that I had never seen before. It looked like an oversize circular Sunkist Fruitgem. I was wondering what the heck was going on at my parent's house. Did my dad chew on a Fruit Gem while he was going to the bathroom and it did not flush sticking to the side of the toilet? I soon realized that it was some sort of toilet cleaner and air freshener. I must say that it was like an ocean breeze of freshness coming from the bowl of the toilet even when the bowels where not as fresh...if you catch my drift.

So today we had my sister and her husband over to our house to celebrate her fort...(oooppsss....don't broadcast this) birthday and I started talking with them about this great air freshener in our toilet. This lead to a story that I was not even expecting but what is a classic parent story.

My sister and her husband have a twenty something year old son. While he is not attending school he is home where he spends is free time with his long term girlfriend. My brother-in-law decides to use one of the bathrooms in their "estate" a few weeks ago and notices a "green thing" stuck to the side of the toilet. Alarmed, he thinks that the green thing can be no other than a green condom stuck on the inside of the toilet. He closely examines the "green thing" and begins the rushed process of trying to rid the evidence before my sister got home sparring my nephew the embarrassment of being yelled at by my sister for having sex in her house should she find the green "thing" stuck on the toilet when she arrived home from work.

As my brother-in-law works feverishly to remove the "condom" stuck on the inside of the toilet (I am assuming he was wearing gloves or using sticks) he does notice a fresh smell coming from the "green" condom. As he tries to extract the "condom" from the toilet it starts to break apart and he realizes that the "green co

ndom" stuck on the inside of the toilet is just toilet cleaning gel! Wheeewwww!

My Son Saw GOD and He was Wearing a Pink Shirt

My Son Saw God Today and He Was Wearing a PINK Shirt!

It has been a long week at the House of Hud! The week started with the Springsteen concert and it is ending with our youngest son proclaiming to my wife, "I saw GOD today mommy and he was wearing a PINK shirt!"

What is the world is going on at daycare? What are they giving my kids to drink?

I looked on the internet to see what the meaning might be regarding GOD wearing a pink shirt and could not find anything. Maybe this is GOD's way of telling my wife and I that it is time that we take our kids to church to learn about GOD.

Heck, when I was a kid I would remember going to the doctors office and they would have those big, thick books about the big guy on the table and that is where I would get my Godly education. Poor Joey, is his version of GOD a well dressed dude who shops at The Gap and purchases Pink summer shirts?

Looks like it is going to be an interesting 3 day weekend at the House of Hud!
